As a strong, capable bad-ass with a long history of self-development, I can say this with some certainty; No matter how evolved I become, how transformed I am, how controlled my conscious thoughts appear to be, there is always a train heading to Crazytown. And as far as I can tell, this is true for you, too.
It may be now, it could be later, but you should probably know it’s coming. There will always be another opportunity to be in a funk, to feel insecure, to question ourselves. We will forever have the occasion to give credence to that whisper in our ear that suggests we are not good enough, not worthy, not capable. And every time we buy into some version of this self-doubt, we are jumping on the train, and heading for Crazytown.
Here’s the good news, once we understand that there’s always a train coming, it isn’t quite so personal. Just a fixed schedule, really. And sometimes there is tremendous power in recognizing that just because it’s rolling by, doesn’t mean we have to hop aboard. And so maybe, this time, we avert boarding in favor of staying grounded and plugged into our greatness. Yeah, us!
However, there really is always another train coming. And sometimes we won’t resist. We’ll buy the ticket and take the ride. It’s okay, we’ve all done it. But just because you’re on the train, doesn’t mean you have to get off in C-town. You can always take the loop and come on home. And sometimes you will. Right on!
But then there are those times when you just can’t help yourself…fuck it, you’re getting off in Crazytown. No need for shame. Indulge. Roll around in it. Just remember, somewhere in the recesses of your mind, that you are a tourist. Take a look around, buy a postcard or shot glass, and then head back. Don’t shop for real estate, don’t run for office, don’t stay any longer than you need to.
It’s not about living so safe that we never lose our shit. It’s about course correcting a smidge sooner, and a little less often. Don’t worry, you will come back to your POWER. You will remember who you really are. And before long, you’ll have a fresh new chance to not climb aboard…because there’s always a train heading to Crazytown.
